MAN: “The quickest way to know a woman is to go shopping with her”.

WOMAN: “The quickest way to know a man is to see him shop with someone (else)”.

People from creative jobs talk of a “black hole syndrome”. This occurs when you have reached the end of the end of an “idea”. But only two persons can’t stop having “ideas” (read “opinions”), man & woman. That too, about each other. Why & how so? Read on.

Mr/Ms God created the universe in opposites. Presence & absence. So we have day & night. So what is absent in ‘day’ is present in night. ‘Day’ offers you lots of energy & enterprise. This is what helps man make a good living. On the other hand, ‘night’ offers you loads of calmness & creativity. This is what leads you living a good life. So this fantastic ‘couple’ of day-night results is a complete, holistic life, i.e. pleasure of living & process of living. Now who on the planet can tell me which is more important or less necessary & why? The ‘day’, that provides you the process or the night that gives the pleasure of that process?

“Half of the world’s problem exist because of women & rest because men believe so & women don’t!” – Anonymous. (No marks for guessing why this person remained ‘Anonymous’)

Let us understand this in the light of the times & trends that cultivated this spirit. When in the primitive shelters like caves, man because of his physical strength & ability had to fight it out with the weather & wild animals, while the women was the one to be protected & to be supplied the food & facilities. Also each time she was to bear their child for long nine months (say a year) without even the most basic medical facilities, she would become entirely dependent on her man. This was the norm even when she reared the child and he ventured out to do all that was needed for his family’s survival. He could not bear, feed & breed the child because of his anatomy, & she could not run, hunt & fight the brutal wild animals again because of her specialized anatomy. He brought the food & she made it eatable. Till this point none of them thought of one’s superiority or importance. They derived the ultimate pride & pleasure in their respective jobs. There was no comparison, just complementing between the man & the woman.

This was before man became a social animal. As soon as he became socialized & living in a herd in came the culprit called “comparison”. And the thought that out of the ‘day’ (man) & ‘night’ (woman), day (man) is better & important, hence dominant & oppressive. And night (woman) is not as good & less important, hence dominated & oppressed. The tragedy was that even the level headed & wise men thought so. But the disaster was that even the most powerful & prolific women believed that they were doing the most undue, unnecessary & useless job in the world. Hence man should be obliged by letting him dominate her. While this continued to be the norm, the times & trends changed dramatically. What didn’t change was this “comparison”.

In the times that we are living in, there’s neither the need nor can we afford the concept of “comparison”. How can you compare between day & night? Is day because of night or vice versa? Can day exist without night & night without the day? Day & night like man & woman are nothing but two different softwares that run on the same hardware & operating system. So you can compare them only if you can compare Microsoft Office & Microsoft Media Player. We are at fault when we say that “the modern woman can & should rub shoulders with man”. “Woman can do everything that man can & more”. Why waste yourself in doing what man can already do for you. Why & how is earning a meal better than cooking a meal. Why can’t there be the IIM’s, Oxfords & Harvards for Home Management along with what they are known for. My message to all those differently talented, skilled, programmed but restless half of the human race is that it’s about time you stop comparing & liberating from men, & start complementing, creating & care for the world because…

“Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition”. –Timothy Leary.

well very few people think the way u do...but the comparison has gone far beyond than just being at peer positions...now men and women are trying to prove superiority ...women want to show that they can cook the bread they earn...and talking about present scenario everyone wants to be independent and better irrespective of the sex, why just a man-woman issue comparison is widespread which may be in terms of complexion, salary, clothing or any of the silliest thing one can imagine...

the comparison of day and night was nice...and i liked the quotations as well ....good one.
